Mills River,NC - Jordan Alexandria Hodges, 14, of Mills River, died Monday morning, August 17, 2009.
She was a native of Henderson County and a rising freshman at West Henderson High School. She was an active member of Etowah Baptist Church and loved her church and youth group. She was very competitive and a great athlete being an avid player of volleyball and softball at church and school. She also loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
She is survived by her loving family, her parents, W. Trent Hodges and Gwen Hodges; her younger sister, Sydney Hodges; maternal grandmother, Helen Ballard of Mills River; paternal grandmother, Mary A. Morgan of Rosman; paternal great-grandmother, Edith Anders of Brevard; and honorary grandparents, Bill and Mildred
Sullivan of Mills River.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2009, at Etowah Baptist Church, with the Revs. Brian Henderson, Thomas Glenn and Ryan Hooper officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Etowah Baptist Church.
